AMATEUR RADIO IS A HOBBY, EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS IS A COMMITMENT !
The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes. Every licensed amateur, regardless of membership in ARRL or any other local or national organization, is eligible for membership in the ARES. The only qualification, other than possession of an Amateur Radio license, is a sincere desire to serve. Because ARES is an amateur service, only amateurs are eligible for membership.

THE PINAL COUNTY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS GROUP ISA MEMBER OF THE ARRL AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE (ARES) AND THE RADIO AMATEUR CIVIL EMERGENCY SERVICE (RACES) . WE MEET ON THE 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH, 10 AM, AT THE PINAL COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER IN FLORENCE, AND IN OTHER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT PINAL COUNTY.
WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS AND NO MINIMUM EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED, AS WE ARE IN A CONTINUOUS "TRAINING" MODE AND LEARNING AS A GROUP.
RESIDENCY IN PINAL COUNTY IS HELPFUL BUT NOT REQUIRED. WE RECOGNIZE THAT HAMS LIVING ALONG THE COUNTY BOUNDARIES MAY BE INTERESTED IN JOINING THE GROUP. IN AN EMERGENCY, YOUR DESIRE TO HELP IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR HOME QTH. THIS IS A WORKING EMCOMM GROUP, IT IS NOT A CLUB. A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME INVESTED IN EXERCISES, DRILLS AND OTHER EVENTS WILL BE REQUIRED. PLEASE CONSIDER WHETHER YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE YOU JOIN.
We are looking for ham radio operators interested in participating in the Amateur Radio Emergency Service and public service events. For more information contact the PCECG President, Ryan oler or any group officer.
The need for an auxiliary communications group, to back up and support county and local authorities in times of emergencies, is apparent now more than ever. Our nation is under the threat of terrorism and every citizen has a duty to do what we can to protect it. If you are interested in submitting an application, please download one HERE. You may return it by email (click on the Email icon below) or fax to 480-986-2656. You can also mail it to:
